Two Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Honors Program Students Win Statewide Awards

February 19, 2020 – Two Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Honors Program students won statewide awards at the Florida Collegiate Honors Council conference earlier this month.
Gionela Lepage received the Dr. Mary Jo Henderson $1,000 scholarship for her excellent academics, volunteer service and leadership activities. She becomes the sixth Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Honors Program student to win the Mary Jo Henderson scholarship since 2012. Gionela will graduate in the spring, and has earned a 4.0 GPA at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³». Following graduation, she intends to transfer to the University of Florida as a Biomedical Engineering major.
Caroline Crawford was awarded third place in the conference's art exhibition and received a $100 cash award for a painting she completed in her Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» painting course. She will also graduate this semester and has applied to UF as a Fine Arts Studio major.
Students in Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»'s Honors Program see an 88% acceptance rate to the University of Florida.
The Florida Collegiate Honors Council is a statewide professional association of undergraduate honors programs around the state and is associated with both the Southern Regional Honors Council and the National Collegiate Honors Council.
