Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Secures Grant to Modernize Automotive Training Programs

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» has been awarded a $245,955 Equipment Upgrade and Modernization (EUM) Grant from the Florida Department of Education. These funds will enhance the Automotive Service Technology and Automotive Service Management Technology programs, equipping students with advanced tools and training for careers in the automotive industry.
"The awarding of the EUM grant to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» is going to provide our Automotive Technology students with three state-of-the-art Consulab Battery Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicle trainers," Chris Mortimer, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Automotive Instructor said. "These trainers will allow the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Automotive Technology department to maintain ASE Education Foundation accreditation as industry and training standards evolve."
This initiative aligns with Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»'s commitment to workforce development by supporting students in earning third-party industry certifications and increasing enrollment and completion rates among nontraditional students. By integrating advanced equipment into the curriculum, the programs aim to prepare students for high-wage, high-skill and high-demand careers in Alachua and Bradford counties.
This investment reinforces Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»'s role as a leader in Career and Technical Education (CTE), empowering students to excel in a rapidly evolving automotive industry.
