Author Signing at Coffee 101 in the Library!

David Tegeder, Associate Professor of History at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³», will be signing "Ditch of Dreams," University of Florida Press, co-written with Steven Noll, Wednesday, Nov. 4, from noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Lawrence W. Tyree Library. Copies will be available to purchase at the signing. Light refreshments will be served.
"Ditch of Dreams" traces the story of the Cross-Florida Barge Canal, an idea conceived centuries ago. Intended to make Florida a center of commerce, federal funding was eventually allocated, despite the project being rejected by the Army Corps of Engineers as "not worthy."
David Tegeder teaches history at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» and the University of Florida. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Central Florida and in 1996 received his Ph.D. at the University of Florida.
