Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took care of business on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt against Morton College (IL), defeating the Panthers 15-3 at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Field.  Connor Rooney earned the win with two scheduled innings and five other pitchers combined to scatter six hits.

Santa Fe (17-10, 5-3 MFC) pulled away early, scoring three in the first, two in the second and two more in the third for a 7-2 advantage.  The big inning came in the fifth when the Saints put five runs on the board with just one hit.  Three Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ batters were hit by pitches in the inning and seven were hit in the game.

The Saints padded their lead in the seventh with three more runs for the 15-3 final.

Santa Fe had 13 hits on the day and took advantage of seven Morton College errors.

Casey Scoggins led the way, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a RBI, and two runs scored.  Jonathan Camp finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, Andrew Fears was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI, and Colby Lusignan was 1-for-3 with three RBI.

The Saints will face off against Daytona State College on Wednesday, March 26 on the road at 3:00 PM in a Mid-Florida Conference match-up.
