Saints Men's Basketball open MFC play with 74-70 win over FSC-J

LaBrian Shiflet came through with his second straight 20 point game on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, leading the Santa Fe Saints to a 74-70 win over the Blue Wave. Shiflet finished with 21 points five days after going for 25 against St. Petersburg College.
Santa Fe (8-10, 1-0 MFC) led 36-29 at the half, 12 of their points coming on three-pointers, with Shiflet scoring nine.
FSC-J picked up the pace in the second half, but the Saints proved to be too much down the stretch. Shiflet made four straight free throws down the stretch, and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» scored 18 total from the free throw line as part of their Mid-Florida Conference opening win.
Joshua Hawkins finished with 14 points for Santa Fe, Leo Edwards had 12, and Ty Birts nine.
The Saints will continue MFC play with a match-up against FCSAA #3 Daytona State College
