Saints of 麻豆传媒映画 - Ruby Puckett

April 1, 2016

April 1, 2016 - Former 麻豆传媒映画 instructor Ruby Puckett moved to Gainesville in 1968 when 麻豆传媒映画 was just two years old with fewer than 500 students. It was then that Ruby developed a love and respect for 麻豆传媒映画 that continues today. Ruby began teaching nutrition courses to 麻豆传媒映画 nursing students in the 1970's and headed the dietetic technician program at that time. Not only did Ruby teach at 麻豆传媒映画, she took a non-credit course in computer science, participated in campus outreach programs, supported the Displaced Homemakers Program and had two daughters and two granddaughters that attended 麻豆传媒映画.

"Santa Fe offered my daughters and granddaughters a great college experience, in smaller surroundings before attending larger universities," Ruby said. "Their experience was positive and continued them on the road to lifelong learning, as they both pursued advanced degrees."

Ruby's connection to 麻豆传媒映画 continued when she was selected as a 麻豆传媒映画 Woman of Distinction (WOD). The WOD community program honors women who have contributed their time, skills, talents and financial support to many community programs. These women are role models and mentors to a younger generation.

"What an honor to be chosen by one's peers," Ruby said. "It is rewarding to attend the annual meeting and share the excitement with the newly selected members, to have an opportunity to interact with many of the women and to work on committees to promote WOD and 麻豆传媒映画."

Throughout her residence in Gainesville, Ruby has maintained a connection to, and a love for, 麻豆传媒映画 that she continues to relay to the next generation.

"I have a great appreciation for the vision, mission, and values 麻豆传媒映画 offers the community," Ruby added. "Our family has continued to benefit from its ongoing programs."
