Shorthanded Saints Hang On Against TAAG Academy, 66-63

It took all 40 minutes, but the shorthanded Saints picked up their 12 win of the season Saturday, defeating a scrappy TAAG Academy team in Gainesville, 66-63.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» (12-5) struggled to take of the ball, turning it over 25 times, but overcame their mistakes to pick up the three point win.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» led by as many as nine in the first half but saw it dissolve as the Ambassadors clawed their way back in to make it a 29-26 lead at the break.
In the second half TAAG mounted a run and took the lead late. The Saints made plays down the stretch and made their free throws to hang on for the win.
D-Juan Taylor-Hodge led the offensive attack, scoring 19 points. Nick Grier finished with a double double, 15 points and 11 rebounds., and Jakob Dawkins had 10 points.
The Saints will open Mid-Florida Conference play Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. against Florida State College-Jacksonville.
