Gainesville, FL – The College of Central Florida Patriots came out on the winning side of things Saturday evening in Ocala, defeating the Santa Fe Saints 82-75. David-Lee Jones had an outstanding game for the Saints, scoring 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting with seven assists.

CF slowed the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» offense in the first half, holding the Saints to just 29 points on 10-of-31 shooting.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» (14-10, 1-5 MFC) was much better in the second half, connecting on 47% of their field goals, but the Patriots were equally as effective on the offensive end, playing even with the Saints for the final 20 minutes 46-46.

"We struggled on both ends of the floor in the first ten minutes of the second half, when we really needed to be more consistent," said Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Coach Chris Mowry. "The guys played much better over the final 10 minutes but we still struggled to stop them in transition."

The Saints next game will be a non-conference match-up against Pasco-Hernando State College on Monday, September 6 at 7:00 PM in Gainesville.
