Social Media Campaign – Pokémon GO @ Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»

Pokémon GO's surprising on-campus arrival in July 2016 presented Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»
in Gainesville, FL a unique dilemma, embrace the global phenomenon or ignore it. In
a manner of days, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»'s Communications & Creative Services team strategized and rapidly
executed their highly successful Pokémon GO @ Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» campaign.
Leveraging Pokémon GO's intersections with the College's pre-existing, self-guided learning experiences, the campaign was developed to drive awareness of, and drive traffic to learning destinations like the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Teaching Zoo, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Rock Cycle Garden, Organic Garden and the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Art Walk.

Campaign Story:
National Watermelon day at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» in Gainesville, FL, connected to a larger
audience than its usual following and produced above average results. Carving our
logo into a watermelon and photographing that watermelon on campus with our iconic
new Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Tower in the background gave immediate recognition to those who
already knew about us. The post also provided new brand recognition for those who
may not have known about us.
