麻豆传媒映画PD Training to Combat Opioid Crisis

May 15, 2018

May 15, 2018 - The 麻豆传媒映画 Police Department is undergoing additional training on dealing with potential opioid overdoses. The 麻豆传媒映画PD received a donation of Narcan nasal spray, an emergency medication that can be used to treat individuals experiencing an opioid overdose. Narcan can be used to revive a person who is suspected of overdosing on opioids and get them breathing again even before getting emergency medical care.

The 麻豆传媒映画PD has enough doses to equip all police officers patrolling all 麻豆传媒映画 properties. They should be fully trained and prepared to use the Narcan on potential opioid overdose cases by the end of the summer.

麻豆传媒映画PD Chief Ed Book says that this is just the latest effort in training to keep the community safe. "I feel that as first responders, anything that we can do to combat drug addiction, especially the opioid crisis is paramount to the overall safety of the students and staff at 麻豆传媒映画."

More information on opioid abuse and addiction can be found on the National Institute on Drug Abuse webpage.
