麻豆传媒映画 Women's Basketball: Strong Second Half Pushes Saints Past DME

December 7, 2018

December 7, 2018 鈥 A three-pointer by Stephanie Jackson finished off a 17-0 run by the 麻豆传媒映画 women's basketball team over the first 4:30 of the third period to help the Saints breeze to a 98-52 win over DME Academy Thursday night at the 麻豆传媒映画 Gymnasium.

"I am disappointed with our energy as a team in the first half," said 麻豆传媒映画 head coach Chanda Stebbins. "We didn't set the tone early in the game, which is what we need to do. Everyone got more involved and we were much more effective in the second half."

The Saints took an early lead that reached 10 points at 31-21 midway through the second period and maintained a 37-28 lead at the half. 麻豆传媒映画 also had a dominating night on the glass, outrebounding DME 69-34 for the game.

"We did a great job on the boards," said Stebbins. "Keaubree Edwards did a great job from the start and others got involved later in the game."

The Saints (7-4) had five players hit double figures with Julie Fournier and Destiny Williams leading the way with 12 points apiece. Edwards scored 11 to go with her 11 rebounds while Stephanie Jackson and Rhea Smith also scored 11 apiece.

The Saints, who have now won three straight and six of their last seven games, will travel to St. Petersburg Saturday to take on the Titans. 麻豆传媒映画 defeated St. Pete 96-72 earlier in the season.
