麻豆传媒映画 To Honor Three Adjunct Faculty Members at Convocation
July 25, 2019
July 25, 2019 鈥 麻豆传媒映画 recognized three adjunct faculty members with the annual Adjunct Excellence Award. This year's honorees, Stacey Breheny, Karen Jones and Ann Thebaut are being recognized for their dedication to the college, their profession and the community.
Stacey Breheny, part of 麻豆传媒映画's Fine Arts department, teaches Art Fundamentals, 2-Dimensional Design, Drawing and Painting classes at the college. "Stacey is the epitome of what is best about adjuncts at 麻豆传媒映画," department chair Alora Haynes said. "She is loyal to the college, goes out of her way to support all of her student's success, academically and personally, she routinely participates in 麻豆传媒映画 offerings for professional development, and she is a faculty mentor of the Art Gallery Club."
Karen Jones, who teaches Spanish in the college's Humanities and Foreign Languages department was called one of 麻豆传媒映画's "most accomplished instructors and most thoughtfully engaged contributors to the development of foreign language policy" by department Chair Bill Stephenson. In her recommendation letter, professor Alicia Vonlehe called Jones a consummate professional and a strong advocate for students, adding "We don't see our online colleagues every day so we often forget just how valuable their service to the college is."
Ann Thebaut, who teaches Philosophy, was praised by department Chair Stephenson for making a "more positive and more indelible mark at 麻豆传媒映画 than perhaps any adjunct faculty colleague I have had the pleasure of working with." Thebaut founded 麻豆传媒映画's Ethics Bowl team and has encouraged students to bring their learning out of the classroom and into the public sphere. Under her guidance, the team won the national two-year college championship in just their second year of existence.
Each of the honorees are receiving a monetary award, and 麻豆传媒映画 President Jackson Sasser is scheduled to present them with plaques during Fall Convocation Monday, Aug. 19.
Congratulations to these fine educators!
