June 29, 2020 – Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Police Officer Fred Long will be retiring Tuesday, July 30. Officer Long was a recipient of the Career Service STAR Award, as well as a VALOR honoree from local radio station WSKY for service to the community.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for physical distancing, there will not be a gathering in his honor, however, the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»PD plans to have a modified celebration that will include adding his name to the Walk of Heroes in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»PD building on the Northwest Campus.
