Saint of Santa Fe | Tylar Barbato

July 20, 2020
"My dream has always been to become an electrician. Every friend I have had said Santa Fe College is the way to go," said incoming Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» student Tylar Barbato.
In Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»'s apprenticeship programs, students work with contractors in the industry so they can "earn while they learn." In addition to receiving a paycheck, the employer also pays for the student's tuition. Upon completion of the program, students have more than 8000 hours of on-the-job training and 600 hours of classroom training. Part of their training includes working on the Habitat for Humanity house Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Construction and Technical students build each year.
"I am someone who wants to be successful like my parents - that way they can be proud. I plan on becoming an electrician after my apprenticeship."
Tylar recently started working at All Florida Electric, who will be sponsoring him through the program beginning in the fall.
