Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»'s Office Access and Inclusion Hosting Racial Equity Institute Training in September
August 17, 2020
August 17, 2020 – Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»'s Office of Access and Inclusion is hosting the Racial Equity Institute's "Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach Plus" Friday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. online. This special Groundwater Plus presentation will be a full-day introduction to Racial Equity offered to both Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» employees and students. In this presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present an argument that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» will also be hosting a shorter, three hour "Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach" workshop Wednesday, Oct. 28, online from 9 a.m.-noon. Participants must register in advance. The registration is free for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» students and employees, members of the community can register for a $49 fee.
