Message from ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» President Broadie β ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» Closed Thursday

November 11, 2020 β ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. announced that the college will be closed Thursday, Nov. 12. Below is his statement to the college community.
Dear Santa Fe Family,
The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our primary concern. Therefore, due to the approach of Hurricane Eta, ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» will be closed beginning at midnight and remain closed Thursday, November 12.
Students, faculty and staff should not come to the Northwest Campus or any of the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» centers until the college reopens. We are continuing to monitor the track of the storm, but at this point, all indications are that the tropical storm force winds and bands of rain will make travel potentially unsafe and remote connections may be impacted.
We anticipate opening Friday, Nov. 13, for regular work and class schedules unless there are conditions that prohibit a safe return. The Executive Leadership staff will continue to meet and discuss our options as information becomes available. We will make decisions in the best interest of our college community.
Personally, I would strongly encourage all of our students, faculty and staff to take whatever measures they feel are necessary to remain safe. We encourage you to monitor the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½Σ³» Weather Alerts page for additional information. You can also get updates on the storm through the National Hurricane Center, and storm prep is available at ready.gov.
