Development and discovery on tap for March 27 employee conference

February 2, 2026

麻豆传媒映画 faculty and staff will come together March 27, 2026, on the Northwest Campus for a day of professional development, personal growth, employee awards, fellowship and, of course, some fun along the way.

At this year鈥檚 鈥淒iscover More鈥 professional development day program, a conference-style event that includes multiple break-out sessions, you will have the opportunity to explore more about 麻豆传媒映画 programs, initiatives and opportunities, and step into some sessions that will challenge you, inspire you and give you tools you need to be successful at 麻豆传媒映画 and beyond.

The day begins in the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall Lobby with a check-in and refreshments from 8 to 9 a.m.

The Welcome and Keynote address begin at 9 a.m. in the Auditorium.

Throughout the day, participants are invited to explore six pathways: Pedagogy, Leadership, Student Success, AI/Technology, Wellness and Well-Being, and Discover Something New. Everyone at the College will find sessions that are of value to them.

This year鈥檚 Keynote will be delivered by Nicholas Whitaker, who will challenge us to find ways we can each be 鈥渓eaders in place.鈥 He also will hold breakout sessions later in the day.

Whitaker, who spent more than a decade in leadership at Google, is a leadership consultant and educator. He also is founder and CEO of The Rebellion Collective, a leadership and learning organization. His teaching blends lived experience, rigorous research, and grounded contemplative practice, offering a sober, humane lens on leadership and being human in uncertain times.

This year also will feature three special extended sessions. Participants will take an hour and 45 minutes to allow a deeper dive into the topics. They are:

  • Beyond 鈥淒on鈥檛 Use AI鈥: Designing AI Course Policies That Actually Work presented by Lupita Eyde-Tucker, Kexuan Wu, and Michael Barber from UF鈥檚 Center for Teaching Excellence
  • Watercolor botanical painting led by 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Kyle Novak and Brynna Bat
  • Navigating difficult conversations presented by Norman Seavers

And, of course, we鈥檒l have lunch, and door prizes.

Registration will open February 13; please watch for details.

On March 27, 麻豆传媒映画 will not be open to the public or hold classes, and offices will be closed to allow employees to attend.
