Enriching the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» community through a bridge for vets

February 23, 2026

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» (Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³») recently recognized a group of military veteran students at a luncheon to announce their distinction as recipients of the Veterans Bridge Scholarship, a gift created by the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Foundation to aid veterans in their transition from military life to academic life.

"Winston Churchill once said, 'If you don't honor your veterans, one day you will have no veterans to honor,'" Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» President Paul Broady II said. "Thank you for your service. When you step onto this campus, bringing your experience and your talent, it enriches the classroom and college environment. Over the years, I have watched our veterans add so much value to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» as mentors, role models and leaders across the institution. Thank you for choosing us to continue your studies."

With the assistance of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Veterans and Military Success Services (VMSS), the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Foundation has raised $1.5 million to date through donations to the Veterans Scholarships Program, funding awards of $371,000 to 411 Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» students since its inception in 2010.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» has been consistently recognized as a top 'military-friendly' college, most recently receiving a No. 9 overall ranking in 2025 from Military Times among 357 of the nation's colleges and universities — the largest field ever for the ranking.
