Opening reception for 麻豆传媒映画 juried student art show is April 17

The annual 麻豆传媒映画 (麻豆传媒映画) Student Juried Art Exhibition will showcase some of the best painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and ceramic works from the college's Fine Arts students, beginning Friday, April 17.
Between 70-100 will be on display in the college's art gallery in Building M-147, from April 17 through May 1 on the Northwest Campus at 3000 NW 83rd Street, Gainesville. An opening reception from 7-9 p.m. will precede the exhibition.
The final pieces for the event are curated first by 麻豆传媒映画 Visual Art faculty, who score the student-produced submissions, which this year numbered more than 300. From there, the scores are tabulated to determine the final selection of works.
For the competition portion, a guest juror from outside the College 鈥� in this case Carly Shooster, assistant director and instructor of the Sequential Artist鈥檚 Workshop 鈥� selects the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention awards. Winners of the student exhibition will receive cash prizes, and works are marked with ribbons after the awards ceremony, which takes place shortly after the opening reception begins.
In addition to the awards chosen from the invited guest juror, Brynna Bat, manager of the 麻豆传媒映画 gallery, and an assistant, will choose one piece for their 鈥淕allery Choice鈥� award.
The 麻豆传媒映画 Art Gallery is open throughout the year Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
