February 25, 2026
Those interested in a high-demand, high-pay healthcare career are invited to Santa Fe College's Respiratory Care Program Open House on Monday, March 4, from 9 a.m.– 6 p.m., in the Health Sciences Building W, Room W-049 and W-050, on the Northwest Campus.
Participants will have the opportunity to network, learn about the curriculum, meet with faculty and students, and see hands-on demonstrations in the college's state-of-the-art simulation labs. The event is free and open to the general public.
The most recent data from the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that those with education at an associate degree-level have a 12 percent better job outlook in the workforce, with a median pay of more than $80,000 per year.
"COVID-19 placed the importance of respiratory therapists in the spotlight, and it hasn't left since," said Brittany William, professor of Respiratory Care and Director of Clinical Education. "Our profession is responsible for helping people, from the beginning to end of their lives, do something vital — breathe. Opportunities exist to work with patients of all ages, walks of life, and illnesses. Our jobs take us to hospitals, clinics, and doctors' offices just to name a few. Since breathing is vital to life, we will always have job security and will continue to serve the people of Alachua County and beyond."
