May 4, 2026

Filling a growing need in north central Florida and the state for certified healthcare specialists, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» (Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³») announces the launch of its new Radiation Therapy Specialist program to the course offerings in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Allied Health. The specialization is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in the rapidly growing field of cancer treatment and oncology care. The program will welcome its first cohort in Fall 2026, providing students with the knowledge, technical skills, and clinical experience necessary to become highly skilled radiation therapy professionals.

"The launch of our new Radiation Therapy Specialist program is especially meaningful," said Matthew Allen, chair for the College's Allied Health programs. "This program provides students with the opportunity to build upon existing knowledge and skillsets that will offer them the responsibility and privilege to be part of each patient’s journey in a field that touches so many of us and our loved ones. Radiation therapy is more than a profession; it’s a chance to make a lasting difference when it matters most."

According to the latest U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, the position earns a median annual salary of more than $101,000 ($49/hr.), with an in-demand job market that has steadily increased over the last several years.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for national certification exams and pursue employment in hospitals, cancer treatment centers, and specialized oncology clinics. To learn more about or to apply to this new program, visit: /academics/programs/6312.html
