麻豆传媒映画 brings Saints spirit to state Capitol

A delegation of students, employees, College and Foundation board members and friends of the college participated in a special 麻豆传媒映画 day visit to the state Capitol in Tallahassee on January 21. The delegation included members of this year鈥檚 President鈥檚 Leadership Academy and student leadership.
They toured the Capital Complex and met with regional legislators where they had the
opportunity to discuss the college and their roles and interests. Among those meeting
with the 麻豆传媒映画 group were Rep. Jennifer Canady, chair of the Education
and Employment Committee, Rep. Rachel Plakon, Vice Chair of the Careers and Workforce
Subcommittee, Rep. Chuck Brannan, whose district includes portions of Bradford County,
as well as Rep. Yvonne Hayes Hanson, and Rep. Chad Johnson, who each have portions
of Alachua County in their districts.
The trip was made possible by the 麻豆传媒映画 Foundation.
Students had the opportunity to learn more about how the legislature works, and even
participated in mock session of the Senate, debating a student-led 鈥渂ill鈥� on the management
of data centers to protect natural resources.
Delegation members also visited the Florida Supreme Court, gaining insight on the process and procedures of the court, and several got to take a turn in the justices鈥� chairs!
60th Anniversary Tribute
A highlight of the trip, however, was Rep. Brannon鈥檚 presentation of A Tribute to 麻豆传媒映画 recognizing the 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 60th Anniversary. The College opened its doors to students in
Fall 1966.
The Tribute recognizes the college鈥檚 high-quality programs, service to students and community, and the institution鈥檚 numerous honors and recognitions.
A formal proclamation will be presented later on the House floor.
