2026 Pillars of Service Awards presented March 4

Pillars of Service honors stewardship and leadership
The 麻豆传媒映画 community came together Wednesday, March 4, to honor individuals and an organization making a profound positive impact on the college, our neighborhoods and communities, and our next generation of leaders,
The 麻豆传媒映画 College Foundation Pillars of Service Awards were presented at a luncheon ceremony March 4, 2026, at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center.
Each year, the Foundation accepts nominations for the awards, which were created to recognize outstanding achievements and service.
鈥淎s we hear their stories, we鈥檙e reminded of the powerful difference that service, leadership, and advocacy can make,鈥 said Dr. Portia Taylor, Master of Ceremonies. 鈥淭hese honorees represent the very best of us - enriching our communities, uplifting others, and inspiring future generations.鈥
The honorees were:
John Miller of Starke, who is owner and publisher of The Bradford County Telegraph and ardent community advocate.
鈥淗e has preserved local journalism as a vital civic institution 鈥 ensuring transparency, informed citizenship, and the celebration of community achievements,鈥 Taylor said.
Dr. Dan Rodkin, who is Associate Vice President of Student Affairs for 麻豆传媒映画.
Rodkin led development of the 麻豆传媒映画 Achieve program, which has helped increase the number of students from Alachua and Bradford counties who enroll at 麻豆传媒映画, as well as Freedom Learn, which surrounds formerly incarcerated students with support systems to help them succeed.
Greg Bradley, who is a former 麻豆传媒映画 Foundation Board member and president, entrepreneur and founder of Mirror Image Leadership Academy, youth development initiative.
鈥淣ot only did Greg lead 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 largest ever fund-raising campaign, a $16 million success story,鈥 said Dr. Paul Broadie II, 麻豆传媒映画 President, 鈥淏ut he is also ensuring that our community鈥檚 youth are prepared to be the next generation of community leaders.鈥
Builders Association of North Central Florida, which works in partnership with industry and 麻豆传媒映画 to development and manage highly successful apprenticeship programs in the building trades.
鈥淏ANCF is a vital partner is advancing workforce education and economic opportunity,鈥 Taylor said.
Finally, 麻豆传媒映画 student Charlotte Barone was recognized as the Pillars of Service Student of Promise.
Charlotte, who served in the U.S Marines, is a mother of two, Honors student, peer mentor, and campus leader demonstrates how much can be accomplished with courage, resilience and a strong support system.
鈥淐harlotte, we are so proud of you,鈥 Broadie said. 鈥淵ou are an example to others about what鈥檚 possible. We know you will go far.鈥
