Purpose of the Career Service Council

The Career Service Council (CSC) is a recognized body of the shared governance structure of 麻豆传媒映画. The CSC was formed to provide representation for Career Service (CS) employees (as defined in the Board-approved Salary Schedule) in matters of college policy and issues of general interest to the college community.

The purpose and function of the CSC shall include, but not be confined to, the following:

1. To provide the means for full-time CS employees, through their elected representatives, to participate in the formulation of policies and procedures relating to those employees, their working environments, and the college community.
2. To serve as a source for disseminating information to and receiving information from full-time CS employees.
3. To represent full-time CS employees at the following regularly scheduled meetings: Board of Trustees, College President's Cabinet, Resource and Planning Council, and/or other meetings as assigned by the College President or Board of Trustees.

Objectives

• Promote the welfare of members and the college in its entirety.
• Act as the voice of members to address employee concerns and issues.
• Act as a liaison between members, college administration, and other groups participating in shared governance.
• Raise awareness regarding college issues, programs, services, and events.
• Devote efforts toward the professional development and advancement of members.
• Serve as an advisory group to the College President or their designee on college matters as they pertain to members and issues of general interest to the college community.

Structure

All full-time Career Service employees (as defined in the Board-approved Salary Schedule) are considered Career Service Council members. As a member, you can become involved in the governance of 麻豆传媒映画 through active participation in the Career Service Council. All CS employees may attend the monthly CSC meeting to share information and discuss issues. Also, each building at each 麻豆传媒映画 campus is represented by a Cluster Representative who attends the monthly CSC meeting on behalf of their constituents who cannot attend. The Council is headed by five Officers elected by CS members: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian.

Standing CSC Committees

The following committees function on an ongoing basis. (See the CSC Bylaws for a full explanation of each committtee.) Temporary committees may be raised for other issues or events as needed. If you wish to join a committee, contact csc@sfcollege.edu. 

Bylaws and Elections

This committee oversees the nomination and election process for Career Service Council officers.

Cluster Representatives

This committee oversees the structure of representative clusters to ensure adequate representation of all CS members. 

Historian

This committee takes photos during CSC meetings and events, preserves an ongoing history, and maintains the CSC website. 

Salary and Benefits

This committee reviews proposed changes to salary and benefits and makes recommendations to CSC and the Resource Planning Committee (RPC).

Saints Share Wear Committee

This committee consists of four officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer) and other volunteers who operate the Saints Share Wear thrift shop.
