Overview

The Career Service Council supports and encourages the professional development and academic advancement of Career Service employees at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­. The CSC has been honored to award hundreds of scholarships over the years to well-deserving Career Service employees who have shown dedication to advancing their education by pursuing degrees and certificates.

Details

The CSC Scholarship is intended to help pay for books and other course-related materials required to complete one semester's courses.

  • Scholarships are available for credit-hour (degree) and Career Certificate (C.C.) courses.
  • Scholarships are awarded every Spring, Summer, and Fall semester, according to established deadlines.
  • Scholarships are not awarded for previous or future semesters, only the current application semester.
  • Scholarships are allotted up to a maximum of 6 credit hours per semester. If you're taking a higher credit load, you will only receive an amount for 6 hours.

Awards amounts are generally determined by the following parameters:

  • Certificate or Associate's Degree - $25 per credit hour
  • Bachelor's Degree - $40 per credit hour
  • Master's Degree or PhD - $50 per credit hour

However, this amount is not guaranteed and may be reduced subject to funds availability and number of applicants. 

Eligibility 

To qualify for a CSC Scholarship, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • You must be a current, full-time, non-probationary Career Service employee.
  • If you are awarded a scholarship, you must complete all courses and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 to be eligible for future scholarships.
    • If your GPA falls below 2.5, you may apply again after you have raised it to 2.5 or higher.
  • If your enrollment changes after submitting your application, you must notify the CSC Treasurer within three (3) business days. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of eligibility.

Required Documents

  1. You must complete the CSC Scholarship Application Form on this page, including a brief summary explaining your need of a scholarship award.
  2. You must attach documentation of your current enrollment showing your name and the name of the institution (i.e., official proof of registration).
  3. You must attach an official grade report from the last semester you attended classes, in the form of your official or unofficial transcript.

How to Apply

Complete the application below and attach the required documentation before the deadline. Partial applications are accepted, but all required documentation must be emailed to csc@sfcollege.edu BEFORE the deadline. Applications that are still incomplete after the deadline will not be considered.

Award Process

  • After the application deadline, the Career Service Council Executive Officers review all complete applications and select applicants for awards, as funds permit. The CSC Executive Officers reserve the right to make all final scholarship decisions.
  • Recipients are notified by the CSC Treasurer via Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ email.
  • Awarded funds are disbursed after the Drop w/ Refund date for the awarded semester. For example, B term funds will not be disbursed before the beginning of the B term.
